MY VERSE: 3:8  The wind blows where it wills, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know whence it comes or whither it goes; so it is with everyone born of the Spirit.
MY REFLECTION: I remember sailing on Kronos. We didn’t have a reliable  engine so we depended on the wind to get us to each destination. Sometimes the water would be like glass and you had to wait. You could see the breeze  coming in ripples in the distance before you felt it. Another time the wind was out of the wrong direction and we had to put down the anchor so we wouldn’t go backwards. I’m grateful for that time, to have experienced living according to the direction and power of the wind. To practice accepting what the day brought.

MY PRAYER:  is for patience, to work with what the day brings.

READ: John 2

MY KEY VERSE: 1:12 After this he went down to Capernaum, with his mother and his brothers and his disciples; and there they stayed for a few days.

REFLECTION: This verse made me wonder about his family. What kind of conversations they had. The birth of children that were girls was not recorded then so I wonder if he had sisters. What an interesting time with live in,that we can google questions like this.

MY PRAYER: That something within someone in Kenya or anywhere else in the world will make them pause and do no harm to another.

MY KEY VERSE: John 1:5 ‘The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not over come it.’

MY REFLECTIONS: Darkness can be such a powerful thing. I remember bringing a sailboat down to Charleston. It was stormy, one of the longest nights. When the first light came my heart was so relieved. I once had a friend describe mental illness as “being in a cave without a candle” he didn’t make it through his illness.

MY PRAYER: My prayer is for the people of Kenya, that dark hearts will not prevail. That light will shine in the darkness that is occurring there.
