Esther 3:6
verse “But he distained to lay hands on Mordecai alone. So, as they had made know to him the people of Mordecai, Haman sought to destroy all the Jews, the people of Mordecai, throughout the whole kingdom of Ahasuerus”
reflection: So much hatred. Where does this deep hatred come from? Where does this need to destroy others come from? Just yesterday a young student at Wesleyan was shot dead as she worked in the bookstore cafe during the early afternoon. The murder, an anti-Semitic had apparently bothered her a few years before and found her again.
I think of what she might have become. I think of the people who were in the store at that time. I think of the two families, who have just entered a nightmare. I think of how blessed I was to be able to call my daughter that night and have her answer.
Prayer: If I ever come face to face with that kind of hatred, guide me.
